1.3 The following terms and conditions together with our privacy policy (“Terms”) govern your use of this website. In these Terms “us”, “we” or “our” means Assured Retirement and “you” or “your” means the individual (acting in their own capacity or on behalf of their employer) using our website.

2. Terms governing your use of the website

2.1 Your use of the website constitutes acceptance of these Terms. If you do not agree to our Terms, you must not use the website.

2.2 We reserve the right, at our discretion, to modify, add to or remove any of the Terms by updating this page at any time. You should check this page to ensure you are happy with any changes. Your use of the website following any revision of these Terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes.

15.1 These Terms contain all of the terms which govern your use of the website.

16. Severability

16.1 If any part of these Terms are, at any time, found to be invalid by a court, tribunal or other forum of competent jurisdiction, or otherwise rendered unenforceable, that decision shall not invalidate or void the remainder of these Terms.

16.2 These Terms shall be deemed amended by modifying or severing such part as necessary to render them valid, legal and enforceable while preserving their intent, or if that is not possible, by substituting another provision that is valid, legal and enforceable that gives equivalent effect to the parties’ intent. Your complaint will be dealt with promptly and fairly and in line with the Financial Conduct Authority’s requirements, and if you want more information on how we handle complaints, please contact us.

18.3 Assured Retirement is covered by the Financial Ombudsman Service. This means that if we cannot resolve your complaint, you may ask the Financial Ombudsman to review it. You can visit their website at http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/.

19. Compensation

Financial Services Compensation Scheme

19.1 We are a new business and take great care to manage our affairs sensibly. If we or any of the Banks or Investment Companies with whom your money is invested, ever did get into financial trouble and couldn’t honour their commitments, you may be entitled to compensation from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

19.2 The compensation you could get depends on the type of product you have.

Deposits

100% of the first £85,000 of each depositor’s claim.

Investments

100% of the first £50,000. For investments, the scheme’s first responsibility is to seek continuity of investment rather than to pay compensation.

The actual level of compensation you receive will depend upon the basis of your claim.
